Are you stuck when it comes to getting a birthday gift for the one you have married for so many years? To make it a little easier to decide what to get, think of unique birthday presents as things you might not buy any other time of the year.
There are long lists of both traditional and modern 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th and 80th birthday gift ideas that might make things easier for you, but you don’t have to use those guidelines if you prefer to get something that might mean something, and not have to go by tradition.
When thinking about a birthday gift, think about what makes your spouse happy. Your man’s hobbies, pastimes, and other things related make great and personal gifts. My hubby is a watch collector. So naturally watches make him grin from ear to ear.
If your loved one is fine without any tangible gift, you can find a way to celebrate as his birthday gift by doing something out of the ordinary. Instead of going to the same restaurant, pick one your man has been meaning to try, or go out of town for a new experience.
Let me share with you one of the most unique and memorable birthday gifts I gifted my hubby. A few years ago I surprised my hubby by driving him to a second hand bazaar in another town. Prior to the trip, I told him that it’s a romantic trip for both of us and he just needed to sit still and enjoy the day out.
Till today, I still remember his appreciative look when I stopped at the second hand bazaar.
If you and your loved one don’t want to give each other what might be an expensive birthday gift due to bad economy, what about finding ways to improve the life both of you are sharing?
Putting money into a home improvement project, or taking money each year to put into savings might not seem very romantic, but investing in the future for the children’s sake can be lifesaving later on.

As I knew hubby would wear the watch as often as his other’s watches, I bought him this
