If men want something they tend to buy it for themselves, rather than look for the emotional significance of WHO gave it to them, like women love to do with jewlery and the like. So when the women come to think what their partner needs they can only think of the basics…chances are she does not know enough specifics about which lawnmover, motorbike or blackberry the man requires or wants, but men will easily spend this equivalent amount on something shinny that she is bound to love, simply because it came from HIM.

Many women see themselves as nurturing and don’t have well paying jobs. I make a pretty decent salary and give nice gifts
based on the fact that I can afford them.

because we put lots of thought in what to buy,
like if it was your girlfriend or wife you want to make sure you get some that she will love . if you buy jewelry you want to get her the best they have that you can afford.

Men have higher salaries, and they know they won’t be dropping out of the workforce for 15 years to raise children. Their income is more disposable than ours is.

I’ve noticed that men tend to give gifts only on occasions that warrant them, whereas women are constantly buying their men things when they see something they need or would like.
